Payment System Servicing Fee

As of July 2, 2019, Wild Apricot will begin applying a 20% Payment System Servicing Fee to organizations based in the US and Canada who are using a payment system other than Wild Apricot Payments/AffiniPay. 

If the Payment System Servicing Fee applies to your account, when will you be charged?

The Payment System Servicing Fee will be applied to your account's billing plan on your next renewal date on or after July 2, 2019. For example, if you have a monthly Group account and your next renewal date is August 1, 2019, then an additional $10 would be applied starting on August 1st, resulting in a monthly charge of $60.

This servicing fee is not applied if...

  • You have not enabled online payments
  • You are using Wild Apricot Payments/AffiniPay as your Wild Apricot payment system
  • Your organization is based outside the US or Canada

Why does Wild Apricot charge this fee?

We want to focus our development and testing resources on features that work with Wild Apricot Payments, allowing us to deliver features that can help clients generate more revenue and better manage their finances, such as: 

  • Recurring donations
  • Issuing refunds within Wild Apricot
  • Keeping credit cards on file for faster checkouts

Supporting third-party payment systems like PayPal and Authorize.Net takes time and resources away from our development and support teams. For this reason, we are charging a Payment System Servicing Fee to customers who choose to use a third party payments system instead of Wild Apricot Payments so we can continue to support these other payment systems.

How do I avoid paying this fee?

If the Payment System Servicing Fee applies to your organization, you can avoid the fee by switching your payment system to Wild Apricot Payments/AffiniPay before your next renewal date on or after July 2, 2019.

What if I switch to Wild Apricot Payments after I renew?

If you start using Wild Apricot Payments as your payment processor after you renew your account, and you are on an annual or 2-year plan, we'll issue you a prorated refund. If you pay monthly, we'll drop the servicing fee when you next renew.

What if I switch to Wild Payments after I receive my invoice but before my renewal date?

We'll issue you a new invoice minus the Payment System Servicing Fee.

What if I switch away from Wild Apricot Payments after I renew?

If you are on a monthly plan, we'll start charging the servicing fee when you next renew. If you are on an annual or 2-year plan, we will bill you a prorated servicing fee. If you pay your account fee by credit card, we will charge your credit card immediately. If you pay by invoice, we will send you an invoice for the prorated fee.
