Released beginning on November 4, 2022. The release is rolled out to groups of accounts over a span of several days. Consequently, some changes may not appear on your account until after the release date.
The Version 7.27 release includes the following changes and enhancements.
Security updates
This release includes several updates to improve security and reduce spam.
Stronger password requirements
To improve account security, Wild Apricot is strengthening its password requirements.
Now, valid passwords must adhere to the following requirements:
- 12 characters or more
- both upper and lower case letters
- at least one number
- at least one of the following special characters: #?!@$%^&*-
This policy will be applied to new administrators and new members once your account is updated to the new release. Existing administrators will be prompted to change their passwords a week or two after their account is updated. Thereafter, administrators will be forced to change their passwords every 365 days.
For added security, administrators will be automatically logged out of their account after 3 hours of inactivity.
ReCaptcha changes
The reCaptcha anti-spam feature has been added to the login page and login gadget to improve account security and reduce spam. As well, the reCaptcha feature is no longer optional for the Forget password page.
Dashboard widgets
We've added the following widgets to the new dashboard. Currently, the new dashboard only appears to limited administrators.
New recent donations widget
The recent donations widget displays a list of one-time and recurring donations received during the current calendar month.
Currently, the Recent donations dashboard widget is only displayed to donation managers.
New recently updated page widget
The Recently updated pages widget displays a list of the most recently updated site pages.
Currently, the Recently updated pages widget is only displayed to website managers.
Terminology changes
In response to client input about confusing terminology, we have changed the following terms.

Bug fixes
A number of issues identified by our clients have been fixed, including but not limited to the following:
- Adding an administrator returns "Resource not found" error
- Member count not updated in new dashboard when a member is suspended
- Multiple entries for some registrants when exporting certain events
- Single payment was charged but recorded and settled on 2 different invoices
