Overview
WildApricot's text (SMS) messaging service can amplify your organization's communication efforts by sending customized messages to contacts who have indicated consent and provided a mobile phone number.
Text messages can be a valuable way to communicate with members, keep contacts informed about upcoming events, and increase donor engagement.
Note: WildApricot's Text messaging service can only send text/SMS messages to contacts listed in your WildApricot database.
How does it work?
When you register for text messaging, your organization is assigned a virtual phone number that is used for sending and receiving text messages. You can manage and track the success of your messaging campaigns right within your WildApricot account.
When you create a message campaign, WildApricot searches your contact database for all contacts with a valid mobile phone number who have indicated consent to receive text (SMS) messages. After this list of possible recipients is generated, you can further define the recipient list using filters.
Use the text message editor to create the message content and personalize the message with macros.
Send the message immediately, or schedule it to be delivered at the date and time you designate. You can also indicate whether or not recipients can respond to text messages sent from your organization.
WildApricot's text messaging service is only available in the US and Canada. Your organization must be based in the US or Canada, and messages can only be sent to recipients with valid US or Canadian mobile phone numbers.
Note: WildApricot's Text messaging service can only send text/SMS messages to contacts listed in your WildApricot database.
How much does it cost?
Fees for text messaging are charged monthly, directly to the credit card you provide, and are not included as part of your WildApricot website subscription.
There are no long-term contracts or hidden fees. You pay only for what you use. You may cancel your messaging service at any time.
Each month, the system charges your credit card for the virtual phone number and for the total number of messages you sent and received, per recipient, during the prior billing period.
Important Note: Billing for the Text Messaging service is separate and different from the billing for your WildApricot subscription plan. You must apply for a Text Messaging account and provide credit card billing information for that account. Text Messaging is not bundled with any WildApricot subscription plan.

How long does it take to get approved?
Your application must be carefully reviewed prior to approval. Due to high demand, this process can take up to several weeks. Your text messaging account will display a status of Pending until your application has been reviewed and approved.
If your application is rejected, the account status will reflect this, and you will receive an email informing you of the rejection. WildApricot's support department will also be notified and will reach out to you once they've determined the reason for the rejection. Typically, when applications are rejected it is because incorrect business Tax ID information (EIN/BN) was entered on the registration form.
