Macros tags are a way to personalize your message. When you send a message with a macros, the system replaces it with an appropriate value before sending it to recipients.
The following macros can be used within your messages in TNS.
- FULL_NAME – will be replaced with the recipient's full name, e.g., John Smith.
- EVENT_NAME – will be replaced with an event name. Only available when you send a message to event attendees.
- EVENT_START_DATE – will be replaced with the event start date. Only available when you send a message to event attendees.
- EVENT_LOCATION – will be replaced with thre event location. Only available when you send a message to event attendees.
- EMAIL_SUBJECT – will be replaced with the email subject. Only available when you send a message to email recipients.
- EMAIL_WEB_LINK – will be replaced with a link to a web copy of the email. Only available when you send a message to email recipients. The link is unique for each recipient.
If a macro is entered but not available for that message type, it will not be replaced.
When you enter a macro in your message, a notification will appear below the Message box.
If your message includes macros, the system cannot accurately calculate the final message length before sending. Once the macro is replaced by an actual value, the message length may change. If the resulting message length exceeds the maximum SMS limit, the system will split the message into smaller chunks, and the final campaign price will increase since multiple messages chunks will be sent.
